30 Day Geek Out Challenge – Day 29

You’re an anime/cartoon character now! What outfit are you always wearing?

I definitely have a go-to outfit, so this one is easy. If I became a cartoon character, my outfit would be some fun patterned leggings and a flowy tunic top. This is literally what I wear almost every day.

Real mom talk here: my baby belly still hasn’t fully gone away. I’ve never been a skinny mama, but the extra belly fluff is pretty prominent for me right now. So jeans? No, thank you. Waist-hugging tops? Nope. I like to be comfortable and I like silhouettes that are flattering to my not-so-flattering middle section.

Leggings and flowy tunics. Every day.

I do like to look cute, though, so I find fun colors and patterns to keep it interesting.

Here’s a good example of a typical outfit for me:

A couple of things influence my style. For one, I often like to look a little edgy. When I was in high school, I was pretty goth/alternative. Dog collars, fishnets, all of that embarrassing stuff. I thought I was cool:

I don’t go for the Hot Topic look anymore, but I do still like to keep my edge. I still wear a lot of black and skulls.

I also like to flaunt my geeky-ness through my style. I’m not huge into plain uni-sex t-shirts, so I like to find pieces that promote a fandom while still being feminine. Her Universe is great for that kind of stuff.
